Two Brothers Fatally Shot in Long Island Home as Family Makes Tragic Discovery

Two brothers were fatally shot inside their Long Island home Wednesday morning, leaving their family and neighbors devastated after their mother and sister reportedly discovered their bodies.
Nassau County police responded to a 911 call at a home on Angevine Avenue in Hempstead shortly before 10:30 a.m. Officers found two men suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead.

The victims were identified by their sister as Dave Adamson, 52, and Gary Adamson, 49, according to reports. Police had not immediately released their identities.
The brothers were found inside a home office after their mother reportedly had trouble getting into the room. She called her daughter for help, and the two made the heartbreaking discovery together.
“They’re my youngest brothers,” their sister said, describing them as good sons and brothers. She said one of the men helped care for their parents while the other worked.
The brothers lived with their parents, who run a cleaning business, but they also had children and families of their own. Their sister said the family had never known them to have serious conflicts or disputes.
A family friend described one of the brothers as a peacemaker and said the tragedy was difficult to comprehend.
The shooting shocked the Hempstead community as police surrounded the home and searched the area for clues. Nearby residents watched as emergency crews and investigators arrived at the scene.
One neighbor described the brothers as young, good people and said the circumstances were deeply disturbing.
Police are continuing to investigate what happened and are working to reconstruct the brothers’ final moments. Authorities have not announced a motive or identified a suspect.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers can remain anonymous.
