21-Year-Old Remains in Critical Condition After Rooftop Bar Fall as Mom Shares Hopeful Update

COLUMBIA, Missouri — A Missouri family is holding onto hope as 21-year-old Corbin Rodenberg remains in critical condition after falling from the rooftop of a popular Columbia bar.

Rodenberg fell from the rooftop of Harpo’s Bar & Grill on August 23, according to the Columbia Police Department. He suffered multiple skull fractures and several broken bones and was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

A Terrifying Fall

Police responded to Harpo’s at approximately 9:05 p.m. after receiving a report that someone had fallen from the rooftop.

Rodenberg was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where doctors placed him on a ventilator while treating his extensive injuries.

His mother, Kaley Rodenberg, has been providing updates on her son’s condition as the family waits and hopes for improvement.

She described the situation as a difficult and uncertain journey, asking people to continue keeping Corbin in their thoughts and prayers.

Surgery to Relieve Pressure on His Brain

Five days after the accident, Corbin underwent another significant procedure.

Doctors inserted an external ventricular drain, or EVD, into his brain to drain fluid and monitor pressure inside his skull.

Following the procedure, he was transferred from the surgical intensive care unit to the Neurological Intensive Care Unit, where specialists could focus more closely on his brain injuries.

His mother said there have been encouraging signs as well as setbacks, but she remains determined to focus on every positive development.

“This road we are traveling on will be a test of our strength, patience, and perseverance,” she wrote in an update.

Family Refuses to Give Up

Kaley has described her son’s condition as a marathon rather than a sprint.

The family is facing an uncertain recovery, but she continues to believe Corbin is fighting to come back.

She has also shared photographs from his childhood and his time playing football, giving supporters a glimpse into the young man behind the heartbreaking headlines.

The University of Missouri, where Corbin was previously a student, has also expressed support for him and his family.

“Our thoughts are with former Mizzou student Corbin Rodenberg and his family,” the university said.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help Corbin and his family with medical and related expenses.

The fundraiser had collected more than $39,000 by August 28 as supporters rallied around the family during his hospitalization.
