Beloved Teacher and Mother of Four Dies After SUV Crashes Into Long Island Pool

HEWLETT, N.Y. — A Long Island community is mourning the death of Allison Rahmani, a 40-year-old teacher and mother of four who died after her SUV crashed into a swimming pool at a home in Hewlett.

Rahmani was driving a GMC SUV on Friday morning when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV struck a tree and another vehicle before ending up in a backyard pool.

Rahmani was removed from the vehicle before emergency responders arrived. She was taken to a hospital but later died from her injuries. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

A Teacher Remembered by Her Community

Rahmani worked as a teacher and math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway.

Those who knew her described her as a warm and dedicated educator who cared deeply about her students.
