Alita: Battle Angel 2

Rating: 4.5/5 Angel Reborn

After years of fan campaigns and rumors, Alita: Battle Angel 2 finally arrives, and it was worth the wait. Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron return to complete the story of the little cyborg with the big heart.

The film picks up immediately after the first. Alita (Rosa Salazar, returning with even more emotional depth) has won the Motorball championship, but her victory is hollow. Hugo is gone, and the shadow of Nova (a returning Christoph Waltz in a dual role) looms over Iron City. Alita sets her sights on Zalem, the floating city, determined to confront Nova and fulfill her destiny.

The visual effects are even more stunning this time, with Alita’s eyes somehow more expressive than ever. The action is breathtaking, with a Motorball sequence that rivals any sports movie. The emotional beats land—Alita’s grief, her determination, her growing sense of identity. The final confrontation with Nova sets up a third film perfectly.

The Verdict: A triumphant return for one of cinema’s most underrated heroes. Alita lives, and she fights another day.
